RFID Sponges from Siemens?

The story behind the image is not clear yet. The Raw Feed has uncovered this picture floating around the Siemens news room, without an accompanying press release. (At least we couldn't find one, including anything on the wires...)

Siemens' picture caption only says:

Sponges for an operation are equipped with RFID chips. They are then read by a stationary RFID.
So, for now, the story is developing...
