Fantastic Robotic Voyage

Ritsumeikan University and the Shiga University of Medical Science are reporting that they completed work on a miniature implantable robot prototype. The details have been lost in translation, but what we do know is that the robot is inserted through an incision and is maneuvered using a magnet field. The little guy uses an MRI as a map. He even has cute little forceps that can take a biopsy and imaging capabilities.

Now what has us confused is exactly what part of the body our robotic sub is supposed to be implanted in. Contrary to most popular fiction, the body is not some gigantic sac that is easily traversed like a morning swim in the ocean. We'll let you know more... when we know more.

Hopefully in a future model there will be room in the cockpit for a miniaturized person.
