Novel PCR Device for Fast, Disposable DNA Testing

Thermal Gradient, Inc., a Pittsford, NY, company, has announced yesterday that it has successfully developed a "30-cycle PCR device that can amplify DNA in just 4.4 minutes, far faster than anything available in the marketplace." The company is hoping to incorporate its technology into devices that will allow DNA analysis in minutes, while the patient is examined for infections (HIV,
