I am a 76-year-old woman--an open heart survivor. Broke writs in July 2004. It was mis-set. Earn my living tutoring internaitonal college students. Income went in the dumpster. Wrist surgery (December 2004) proved unsuccessful. Pre-op exam showed no cell cancer. Have been in chemol. While I have Medicare A&B and Secure Horizons HMO, monthly co-payments have been nearly $500.99, I have paid what I could but today was refused the 3-day series because of non-payment. Oncologist apologized when he prescribed oral medication --said it was not nearly as effective as the IV.
I nthe past 8 years UCLA Santa Monica has botched a catarack surgery in the only good eye I had, administered the wrong blood (nearly died), was given an angiogram -- could not walk for 3+ months and now, refusal to give chemo treatment (when spots are diminishing). WHAT options do I have? Forgive errors. One-handed inputting is tedious!
