NxStage System One Portable Dialysis

Filed under: Critical Care , Medicine

NxStage System One Portable DialysisA press release by the University of Indiana School of Medicine informs that a "suitcase-sized machine" is making life easier for patients on hemo dialysis for renal failure.

NxStage Medical, Inc., a company that designed the product explains:

The NxStage System One is no traditional piece of dialysis or CRRT equipment. Patient needs will differ, and therapy options should not be limited. The system is FDA cleared to deliver multiple therapy options, and delivers these therapies in short intermittent schedules, long continuous schedules, or anything in between. The System One is easily configured for chronic care or critical/acute care settings, and can be routinely used in treatment of chronic renal failure, acute renal failure, and fluid overload associated with heart failure. With this flexibility, NxStage provides a simple, natural platform to support your entire therapy program.

Hello. I am wanting to find out how I can get this system and start home teatments for HD. I Been going to a center for 3 years now and they are ok but I feel like I could do a better job myself. I have often caught them doing things with out cordinating between nurses and this is very annoying. I am a smart person and know my body well. I have even stuck my fistula once with both needles. I have a female partner who would be willing to help me and I have a clean empty bed room for the system and suppies to be setup in. I am on VA and SSI disability. I want to be trained. Please contact me @ this e-mail or call 614 638-7969. I go to Mid America Dialysis center Columbus, Ohio. My Socal worker's first name is Robert.
Thanks,
Ron Rock

I have been using the nxstage machine for almost a month now. I have been trained so that I may do the treatments on my Mother. I have to say that the difference in her health, and life is like night and day. She had been going to the clinics for almost a year and would come out of there like she had been in a boxing ring. After I complete her treatment, she actually goes out walking and running errands. Her energy is like it was prior to the dialysis. The training we received from Personal Dialysis in Brighton, Ma was fantastic! The Patient caring was so impressive. I also had my doubts when I first researched this, and all I can say is that it has changed my Mother's life for the better.

My brother who is on hemodialysis in Georgia will be moving back to Jamaica soon. Since dialysis is very expensive in Jamaica, I'm trying to get more information on home treatments. I would like to know the cost of this unique machine and the cost for shipment to Jamaica, if possible. Thanx alot.
